Bows

This bow is a robust design that is suitable for medieval and Renaissance stringed instruments, overhand or underhand hold. It is modeled after a bow by Julian Clark and widely used by leading players such as David Douglass and Robert Mealy. Ideally made from yew, as the English Longbow, I use European Beech when I can’t find yew of sufficient quality. I have scaled the original Clark design to different weights to match higher and lower instruments.
